Inspired by Guinness Punch, a popular drink of Jamaica that I grew up with my late father making throughout my childhood. Oats are an optional ingredient that you will find in many versions of this drink's recipe because it adds a thick and creamy texture. Of course, I had to include it in this soap recipe because of the oat's moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties (say goodbye to itchy skin) and its ability to gently exfoliate.
Beer contributes lots of beneficial properties to soap in the form of increased sudsy bubbles because of the sugar content, has the potential to act as an anti-inflammatory because of the bitter acids in hops flower buds, as well as being a gentle exfoliant to the skin. Brewer's yeast has been used medicinally on the skin for centuries and is known for being high in Vitamin B. Vitamin B helps to moisturize our skin, and some studies have shown that it helps to combat acne, rosacea, and other skin conditions. Fun fact, do you know that there are beer spas and this tradition goes back to 2,000 years ago with the first recorded beer spas?
As expected with any food item from Jamaica, you know we have to add lots of flavoring with additional spices like nutmeg and vanilla. Experience the warm and inviting scent of cinnamon, oats, and vanilla as you shower without the feeling of a hangover.

saponified organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, organic fair trade raw shea butter, Guinness beer, sodium hydroxide, coconut milk, organic oats, sodium lactate, white kaolin clay and mica (colorants), cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla essential oils
